FULL-TIME TEAMS HIRING @ #GHC18

mACHINE lEARNING

 As a member of the machine learning group you get to apply your neurons to Qualcomm's neural net processing engine. We combine high performance software with cutting edge hardware to run deep neural nets fast, and we do it with the lowest power on that little computer that you keep in your pocket.

 

Responsibilities:

• Software development of the neural processing engine (NPE), NPE SDK tools, performance and power optimizations, working in neural network frameworks like Caffe, Caffe2 and TensorFlow

• Validate the performance and accuracy of the engine through detailed analysis and test coverage

rf sOFTWARE

Be part of an engineering team that is responsible for designing, developing and integrating embedded software for RF front-end, transceiver and baseband control on the worlds most advanced wireless modems.

 

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and debug embedded driver software in C/C++ for 2G/3G/4G cellular systems

• Design and develop embedded RF test commands for both the RF Driver and Layer 1 for 2G/3G/4G cellular systems

• Write unit test cases, design documents and procedure documents. Pursue software source code quality goals.

Software sECURITY SOLUTIONS

Research, design, development and implement innovative software security products for secure access to Mobile (i.e., Smartphone, Tablet) and IoT devices as a software engineer on the Software Security Team. In this position, you will work with a team of multi-disciplined professionals to develop QTI security solutions for the next generation of  leading Qualcomm software.

 

Responsibilities:

• Develop innovative solutions on all software layers of the device architecture

• Interact closely with internal teams and potentially support/work with external customers

As a software engineer on the 4G/5G software technology team you will develop & leverage strong expertise in software real time systems and cutting edge cellular technologies that not only power the smart phones and computing markets but also the strong adjacent segments like automotive, healthcare & IoE. 

 

Responsibilities:

• Modem air interface technologies software/tool/drivers development

• Software/firmware integration and test

• Work closely with our partners and customers for commercialization & launch support of the various devices


Cyber security solutions

Develop special products based on Qualcomm's wireless terrestrial and satellite communication technologies for the military, federal, local, and foreign governments as a software or test engineer in Qualcomm's Cyber Security Solutions (QCSS) division.

 


Responsibilities:

• Support government-sponsored research, development, integration and test of such systems, including adaptation and extension of commercial systems to novel applications and environments, as well as internal development efforts

Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.


Modem systems

Join the team that is responsible for the huge success of 4G LTE around the globe and is now expanding in new areas such as 5G, IoT, and vehicular communications. You’ll have an opportunity to represent Qualcomm in 3GPP RAN2 working group and get in on the “ground floor” of these new emerging technologies and help shape the future.

 

Responsibilities:

• Communication theory, applied mathematics, RF interfaces and digital mitigation of RF distortion, low power design, signal processing, information theory, probability and random processes, machine learning or Bayesian inference, or upper layer protocol design experience
• Wireless standards (i.e. LTE/WiFi/5G/UMTS).
• Modem architecture, software engineering and simulation design, microprocessor architecture, embedded software, data network protocols knowledge.

• Completed Coursework:

Data Structures, OS, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Computer Algorithms, Mathematics, Computer Architecture, Programming.
• Must be available for a 3-month internship in the summer of 2019


Preferred

• Strong C/C++, python, and object oriented design background•  Experience with scripting languages such as PERL, UML, and experience with Linux/UNIX, Linux Drivers, Linux Kernel
• Mobile SW development in Windows Mobile, Android, design patterns,

• Wireless network protocols such as TCP/IP, SIP

•  Familiarity with real-time operating systems such as VxWorks
